Joyce Sims, Morehouse Elementary School Kindergarten Teacher Has Passed Away
It is with deep sadness that Morehouse Elementary School announces the passing of Ms. Joyce Sims, beloved MES Kindergarten teacher. Ms. Sims dedicated her life to educating and nurturing children, touching the lives of countless students and families throughout Morehouse Parish over several decades of service.
Her classroom was a place of warmth and discovery, where foundational lessons in letters and numbers were woven seamlessly with lessons in kindness and curiosity. Ms. Sims’s passion for teaching, her caring spirit, and her unwavering commitment to her students left an indelible mark on our school community. For generations, she was often the first smiling face to welcome our youngest learners, setting them on a path of lifelong learning with patience and grace.
She will be profoundly missed by the entire MES staff, her many former students, their families, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Please keep Ms. Sims’s son, loved ones, and friends in your thoughts during this difficult time. Our hearts are with her entire family and all who mourn this tremendous loss. Her legacy of love and dedication will forever remain a cornerstone of Morehouse Elementary.
